CLEVELAND: C LEE (-127)
KANSAS CITY: G MECHE
I really don't understand this line today. Maybe because Clev. is no powerhouse, but they face the AL's worst offense today -- and they are using one of the best pitchers in MLB. Cliff Lee comes in with a 7-1 record, but more importantly his ERA on the road is 1.24 and a WHPG of 6.94. He got roughed up a bit 2 back, but the overall numbers speak for themselves. Lee's BAA is .209 which is in the top 5 in the AL of pitchers with a least 5 starts.
Kansas City on the other hand is now on a 10 game losing streak. Maybe Vegas thinks that they're DUE....whatever! The Royals are abysmal and even playing AT HOME (where they avg. less than 3.5 RPG) is not going to help against the likes of Lee. K.C rattled off 8 runs 2 back, but in their previous 7 games they only managed 8 runs....TOTAL! K.C is running out Gil Meche with his 5.35 ERA (which is better than his riduculous 7.72 at home). His WHPG (11.23) is nearly twice that of Lee and the league is hitting an avg .243 off him.d1g1t
In the Royals defense, they have recently run into some strong pitchers, but it doesn't get any easier today. Of course they are DUE, but there are too many "edges" to ignore in this one. I make the line Clev-157. Both of these teams have horrible bullpens, so lets hope the starters settle this themselves.
I'll ride the Indians today at what I think is a bargain price.
