NBA championship starts June 5th?

Just heard on radio that game 1 was the June 5th. Is this right?

If the lastest the East can end is on Sunday why not start earlier? East might be over tonight then both teams will be off a week.

Why the hell is there such a long break?

Cause according to a lot of idiots on this forum, it will give David Stern and company enough time to decide who's going to win the championship.

same reason baseball and football does it. give it time for the media hype and be talked about it. if the pistons series goes 7 its only 3 days so thats not that bad.
