Many people making 40K will someday have immense wealth, while plenty of six figure guys will die with nothing. The biggest problem is that most people define wealth as having a high income. Wealth doesn't have much to do with income. It is created over time by paying yourself first, and anyone can achieve it.

I get where you are coming from, but I am talking money in general.

Life is what it is, but that is a goal in my life to become very wealthy and successful off my business. Sure CEO's., or whatever do, but making 40K a year would take you a life time. By 37 I want to be set

here's my take on it - from a general perspective - not about this per se.
I believe if you've got nothing that passionate interests you as an individual, that expands your horizons and speaks to your character and empowers and enlightens you to yourself, your place in the world, if you've got nothing that fascinates you becuase of what it teaches you,
how it emhances your life as a whole - there's no good reason not to own a business.

We're in a capitalistic country that is pushing what you "have, can have, own, should own" 24/7/365 by every means possible. We've taken "keeping up with the Jones's to a new level".
If you're going to be shallow as to self-knowledge...there's no reason not to fill your time and take your energy with what it takes to be rich. We live in the most opportuned country in the world, and you can make yourself into whoever or whatever you want to be- with enough funds.

Every society has a bartering tool by which to be thought highly of in social realm, and ensure you have the privileges and comforts that those with less do not......and if you've nothing that consumes you because it speaks to who you are - while it creates in you a deeper, more existentially expanded self - why the hell not be rich.

You'll never be rich working for someone else, at least that's not nearly as likely to happen. The only way you get more wealth working for someone else is if you're so destitute and in such a situation you can't have the ability to borrow the funds to start the ubsiness, and run it up into a profitable status quo.

So while it's not always fun and candy to own a business - it's hard work, it demands you do many tasks and chores and obligations that aren't blowing air up your kilt.....there are advantages to it over time, if you require yourself to work the busness sso that max profit is your "challenge and goal" and you achieve it.

40 is the new 30. I want to retire by 40 if possible. But 45 is more realistic

I think that life is all about being content. Ambition is great and necessary, but if you love money, you will never have enough. And if you become a billionaire, it won't be as great as you had hoped. You can only lay on a beach so long before that gets old. Just be passionate about the work that you do, and want what you already have.

Very well said. I think I'm the richest man in the world and it has nothing to do with money.

Fair enough, I love what I do....but would like to do it on my own time, not on someone elses.
