What ever happened to good old fashion relief pitchers.. I mean it seems like there is not one dominant closer right now.... Back in the day it was an art... set up men and closers.. once you got to the 7th with the Yankees when they were winning , it was lights out with Stanton, Rivera.. etc...

It is really sad.. these guys come in and blow games left and right.. I can honestly say that I have never seen as bad as it has been this year.. Am I the only one thinking this?? Look at the Dodgers and Reds today??? every day there are blown games and saves by the set up men and closers... it is really just awful..

IF I have to hear one more time about how great Broxton is I'm gonna puke. Every year it's, oh watch out Saito's gonna lose his job, Broxton is great. The guy is the shits under pressure and he shows it time after time.

Edit: Looks like he has worked a lot lately though.

play the first 5 inn and get it over with......

I have never been much of a first 5 inning guy but I think I am going to take a stronger look it doing it now .. I cant stomach these bullpens.. I mean the Dodgers were crusing and that piece of shit comes in and just destroys a great pitching performance.. If I the starter I would mess somebody up after the game in the locker room...

Tend to agree, but you will encounter a ton of pushes.
Play 5 inning wagers with good starter, bad closer.

There are still dominant closers though, Nathan etc. etc.

VERY few dominant closers... I mean Dominant.. Wagner comes to mind this season.. and the set up guys for most teams are awful leading up to the closer..
