Rules Update...

If anyone fails to make a pick throughout the P4P Round, they will be eliminated from any further competition.

JoH, first, thanks for running this contest again this year!

I'm back online today after the passing of my father last week. I remembered reading that for the P2P round, at least 15 plays are required so I knew it meant that I can only have 2 days to miss.

That was Sunday and yesterday, obviously. My only question is why are everyone who haven't played are at 0-0 -600? (UPDATE: Never mind, I see that column is FOR "trailing the leader", duh me, my apologizes)

The rules say, "Starting Sunday, June 1st, an 8-day Play For Postion (P4P) Round will get under way. There will be a 15 play minimum for this round only. This will determine seedings for matchplay which starts the following week. You will then be matched with an opponent based on your seeding for a one week elimination round. For the P4P Round only, anyone who falls under the minimum (15) will be assessed a loss of -110 for each play short. No one will be disqualified from this round."

If I were to make 3 plays everyday for the rest of week, I would not be deducted any amount, correct, since I would have played 15 selections?

First, my condolences to you and your family. So sorry for your loss.

Yes, you are correct, make 15 plays and no deductions. However, the change I have made is for those who signed up and totally ignore this round. If they don't feel the need to post plays for this round, then I have no interest in having them around for match play. Good luck to you.

Thanks, teazeman, I didn't make a post of it in OS or MLB forum. My dad had throat cancer in 2006 that he recovered from, even if he lost his larynx. He was doing very good until after this past Easter and began to have breathing problems and found a bump near his neck. He was brought to the hospital on May 1st not able to breathe. After tests, they confirmed the cancer had returned and had spread. We still hoped he could return home (or go to hospice), but my dad kept having setbacks and deteriorated during his 3rd week in the ICU. By this time, the hospice was ready to have him transported but needed him to be stabilized without a breathing ventilator for a day or two. On Friday the 23rd, this was done knowing he may not survive through this (with a DNR order, too). After only a hour of breathing on his own, he passed away peacefully without more pain, however. We just had a memorial service for my dad this past Sunday, June 1st.

My mom, fiancée, and I are doing alright.

Thanks, JoH. Yes, I belatedly realized the intent of your post earlier today about if someone does not make any plays for the rest of the week wouldn't be invited for the first round.
