What's the deal with this Vegas Wheel of Fortune game?

I can't figure out how everyone I know comes back from Vegas saying they won a ton playing this thing... The last 4 people I know that went all brought back a few hundred each playing some Wheel of Fortune game. Is this thing skill based at all or what's the deal? Is it just blind luck?

Sorry I've never been to Vegas and was asking around today and everyone is telling me to play this one game. The August bash trip will be my first time there so sorry for my ignorance but I just found it weird that everyone I've called has told me the exact same thing.

I imagine there are a load of different ones....there is one with a mega-huge wheel and two seats for each station.

the traditional one has a wheel and a progressive....I have spun the wheel and won $1,000 about 3 times in my life.....have probably lost $5,000+ in my life....very bad game.

all it is is a slot machine, no skill. if you get the wheel of fortune on the line it spins another wheel that looks like the wheel of fortune wheel and you get whatever payout it lands on.

My wife won about $250-300 last time we were there and her friend won ~$900 a few times before that. It does seem like people win fairly regularly on them, but I don't play them and don't pay all that close attention. I do hear "Wheel.of...fortune!" often in the casinos and that means someone is spinning the wheel for a payout.

Any chance you can manipulate the wheel? I know that sounds like the world's dumbest question since it's Vegas and all but like you said, it seems people win fairly regularly...

No, doubt it. Some of the machines may be a little looser than other slots b/c they are a loud machine and attract attention when you get to spin the wheel, but I don't think they payout significantly more than any other machine

Isn't this the game with the currency on a wheel, and you bet wether it lands on a one, five, ten, twenty ( etc.) bill ?

I don't think so Doug. I believe it's a regular slot machine but it has a "spin" or something on the reels. You then spin a reel at the top of the machine and you win varying amounts of money. My wife loves this machine.

Yea, that's something different Doug. I always laugh when I see people playing that thing and yelling and screaming like it's the best game ever.
