Last Wednesday (May 28th) I woke up to see $1000 mysteriously withdrawn from my bank account. Somewhat concerned as there was no description to go along with the transaction I called the bank....
They informed me that a check I had deposited on November 5th had bounced and they just got it back as non-payable.
Knowing that this was a check from 5Dimes, I immediately called them to let them know that the check had bounced. They asked for a copy of the documents from my bank, which I told them they would receive as soon as I got a copy.
I called the bank back to ask that they fax me a copy of the letter they had sent through the mail, but they said they could not do that.
As soon as I received the letter from the bank on Tuesday, I emailed a scanned copy over to 5Dimes as requested.
The first response said they would have to do a trace on the check, but the accounting department already had my info and was proceeding with the trace.
The past two days I have been told that it should be completed that afternoon only to find out they haven't and to check back the next day. (Ihave copies of all of my emails back and forth with them)
I've never had an issue with 5 Dimes before, but this is starting to aggravate me beyond belief. On top of that I come to find out that someone else had the same issue recently.
Thankfully, I did not incur any charges for overdraft, but having a $1000 disappear from your bank account is not fun....especially at the beginning of the month when all of my bills are due.
Add to the perceived lackadaisical effort I have received from 5Dimes is further agitating me. I have only requested 1 payout from them in the last 2 years (this one) so its not like they have to search trhough dozens of checks for me and they have had a copy of the documents from my bank for over 2 days.
My hope is that they can wrap this up and get the funds to me by tomorrow....if not, I don't know what to do.
