Is there any reason to use Don Best anymore?

With all of the options available, DB has become overpriced. Players have never had so many viable choices for their line services and we all know that competition is good for the customer.

In the early days of line services, getting the lines from the books was the biggest challenge, and DB was the only place that had it figured out. But times have changed and now all of the services have pretty much the same books, so what other factors are there? Well the first featured listed on the DB websites is injuries, but they have become a distant 2nd in that area.

Just yesterday, SportsOptions beat DB on every MLB injury notice. DB also sent out an overnight pitching change on the Angels, but we had the correct pitcher (Garland) the whole time. And this is nothing new - we are first on injuries and lineups over 90% of the time.

SportsOptions is the first company to give customers a ‘complete’ alternative to DB, and we do it for half the price.

And don’t forget – if you are using DB Express Odds, our Standard service gives you faster information for a fraction of the price.

Anybody that would like to see that difference, just email - odds@SportsOptions.com - us and we will get a free trial setup.

Belly and Lap -

We have ALL of the books you are looking for. If you have not tried the service recently, give it another shot and you will be very happy!

odds@SportsOptions.com

Two Questions:
Is Cris live on SportsOptions?

Now the dumb question.
Would it be ok to post about the Other lines service?

Some stuff has just been brought to my attention, so I need to speak my piece. From what I understand, you guys are using CRIS, Grande and Oly lines, even though those books have asked you not to. Somehow I don't see this as ethical. If a book doesn't want their info on the sight, I believe it's their right. You should in fact respect their wishes. I'm sure your product is fine, but I have a tough time endorsing a company that would do this. I understand your wish to compete with Don Best, but this is not the way to go about it. Just my two cents.

Wow, I didn't know this. Not that I care too much, but it does seem a little shady.

Using the books

I think you will find more than two or three people do this. I won't mention names , but for over a year one service has been asked not to use , but they do. I don'r see manyhting wrong with this nor do i see that it is unethical because if they didn't want them to use their lines there are way's to stop it.

I agree with your reasoning. But in SOs defense, GJ has been doing this for years. Difficult for SO to compete if the rules are not the same for everyone.

Cris

Yes for Bookmaker, Oly & Grande
Tinco, if you are talking about Sports options have the above three, they don't have Cris anymore that i know of. At least i don't see them on my screen. I have had Sport's options since day one and couldn't be more satisfied. i also have two others to compliment each other. Each has their own niche and i think competttion breed a good product and will help us in the end.We are talking money? They all have a few quirks rom time to time and i have given each it's due, however Sports options seems to be correcting them faster than others and giving us , the customer what we want.:dancefool

All three of these books offer their lines to the viewing public ... you don't have to be signed in to view their lines, you don't even have to be a customer, you just have to go to their website and view their "public" lines.

Since they are freely offering their lines for everyone/anyone to see, regardless of whether or not the person viewing the lines is a customer, then there is nothing unethical about a 3rd party (SO, GJ, etc.) displaying this information.

Judge,

There are a couple of points to make about this.

First, the ethical side of it. One thing that all SportsOptions, G&J Update, LinesMover and Don Best all have in common is that we are all nothing more than information disseminators. And when you are in the dissemination business, you gather information from the public domain and disseminate it to your customers. The originator of any information will always be faced with the fact that somebody will end up using that information in a way that they would prefer them not to. For example, Don Best frequently quotes a coach or staff member when sending out an Urgent Message. I am sure that if the person making the quote had a choice, they would not want their information ending up on a service like DB. However, they also realize that once information is in the public domain, it is free game.

Next, you really need to ask yourself why one book would try to get all others to only post on DB. There is nothing wrong with somebody trying to make money, but they should not hide behind a veil ‘ethics’ when they are only being driven by their own financial gain.

There is a reason that anti-monopoly laws are in place. There is only one entity that benefits from a monopoly – the company that has it. DB once had a monopoly of the line service business, not from monopolistic tactics, but because they offered the best service and had no real competition. Well that has clearly changed, and the new owners of DB are just now realizing it.

Why is theRX allowing spammers to start threads? Shouldn't this be in the Site Promotions Forum?
