Been to Santorini - but it was in the 90's.

If you go - make sure you have arrangements for someone to pick you up when the ferry drops you off. Hotel guys will be waiting but only if you commit to stay at their spot (there's a bus that comes I think - but our ferry got there quite late). Black beaches (strewn with cig butts - but they rake it). If you book a hotel, see if they'll pick you up.

Nice strip of little pubs and eateries circle the main area.

Acted a bit tougher than I should have in a bar called "Black Barts" (you see a lot of Australian themed stuff in parts of greece for some reason - this pub was all Fosters themed) and would have gotten stomped like a narc at a biker rally had I not been hanging with a bunch of rugby players that were there on some team building weekend thing.

Scooter rentals let you cruise and explore the Island (it's mountaneous so it'd be a pain to try and sightsee on foot).

They paint a big portion of the island blue and white seemingly every year. So you have this super bright blue and white look contrasted with some older run down stuff.

We ate a place called Santo or Santa (can't recall). Food was good and beer was cheap. If Greece has it's own beer - I couldn't find it. Was Becks and Amstel to go with the Gyros each night.

I didn't notice any I didn't notice any - but wasn't looking for any either on the trip either.

Santorini is beautiful all together as what the post cards portray. The sunsets are incredible over the Caldera from the beautiful Roccabella **** Hotel. A hotel I highly recommend. There is great food, great people, the ruins of Ancient Thira, donkey rides etc..

Fly into Greece, Athens Olympic Airlines to Santorini.. I'd get a car when ou get there so you can drive around the Island.

Anything more I'd be glad to help.
