If you bet a tournament match up golfer a -120 vs golfer b +100 and the two finish tied for first are the results graded a tie for wagering purposes or is the winner for wagering purposes the winner of the play off?

Have a local telling me that it is a tie, and I disagree with him. I say the winner of the playoff is the winner of the wager.

Can someone settle the arguement. Also I did not have a wager this just came up in conversation, so I'm not playing the "I'm right because I want to get paid game" that so many gamblers love to play.

In the event that two or more golfers are tied for the lead at the end of regulation play, a sudden death playoff is normally used to determine the winner of the tournament. In this case, the winner of the playoff is the winner for betting purposes. All other golfers in the playoff will be graded as second-place finishers.

pinny golf rule number 4

Settlement will be on the player achieving the highest placing at the end of the tournament. If the number of rounds played is reduced, as in the case of bad weather, bets stand providing that an official tournament winner is declared

matchup rule 3....highest placing would be the playoff winner

I have a different take.. if the bet was a WIN bet, then yes, obviously the guy who won the playoff is the winner. BUT matchups are determined by score.. and their official score will go into the books as the same # of strokes. I agree with it being graded a push for MATCHUP purposes.

well by pinnacles specific rule, yes it would be graded as a win.. but with a local, with no defined rule.. its easy to sway it either way.
