given the new pitching matchup and bennett in line to get shelled after a quick change...
I think Cubbies go up early and make for an easy bet.

best home record plays host to worst road record . . . looks a little too good to be true.

Dempster is career 1-10 with a 5.65 ERA in 13 games against Atlanta.

He hasn't started a game vs. the Braves since 2003.

Cubs RL for me tonight. Cubs 8-0 when Dempster starts at home and the Braves haven't won a game with Chipper out this year.

Dempster should have won his third straight start Thursday, but those are the breaks of baseball. Dempster is having a career year in 2008 after being removed from the closer's role. As long as he continues to pitch well and the Cubs continue to win, Dempster remains a solid Fantasy SP. His next scheduled start is for Wednesday against the Braves.

Spin: He fanned seven, but walks were again an issue as he handed out four free passes. Dempster has been a nice surprise for the Cubs so far, but fantasy owners should take note of the significant deviations in BABIP (.236) and his strand rate (.781) compared to his career norms (.313, .703). Don't expect his ERA and WHIP to stay as low as they are now for much longer as those numbers are bound to normalize a bit.

Bennett made three starts in April while filling in for Mike Hampton and Tom Glavine, and went 0-1 with a decent 3.07 ERA. Usually a viable middle reliever in NL-only formats, Bennett might get two or three starts in place of Jurrjens, and could be a two-start guy in Fantasy Week 12 (June 16-22). That makes him a little more of an attractive Fantasy option than normal, obviously.

why not pound?

becs u are attached to your money and dont wanna lose it?

ton of chalk to lay here regardless of opponent, and just when u think the braves wont/cant compete...they r capable of putting up 10 on the board, and ending your night early.

plus, with the pithcing change and now larger line....people often think that cubs are even more likely to win this game.....often times the guy filling in has something to prove....and u get a good effort from him...

Bennett goes 5 innings tops and I'll take my chances with the Braves shit bullpen late in the game.

exactly.
cubs should score early and later..
really like this game and may hammer the runline.
smetimes these chances only come around once and a while and you kick yourself for not betting big because of a loss the prior day or someshit..
therefore I'm pounding them

And this happens more times in baseball than the other sports. If Chipper was playing, it is worth a look, as is the over. Weather heating up in Chicago today and the wind blowing out.

Look ahead to tomorrow - 90 degrees and 20+ mph winds blowing out. I won't be around to play it, but you know what to do here.

Contrarian pick here is the Braves...+161 is pretty good value...especially with people talking about "pounding" the Cubs.

I love it when people do that.

You should never "pound" any pick...when will people learn?

ok, then put your money on the braves.
please dont say that word "contrarian" as it is the most overused word in sports gambling. Contrarians do no better in the long run. Another common myth. If you can pick "contrarian" style at a winning rate than please do so.

Atlanta used their bullpen for 5 innings last night also. Total is at 10, have a small lean on the over.
