okay...here's the situation.

I'm down about 15 units for the week. Right Now I have a parlay open which only has the NY/OAK game left. Here is the parlay:

<TABLE cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=1 width="90%" border=0><TBODY><TR class=TrGameOdd><TD align=middle>Jun 12 12:35 PM
Jun 12 03:35 PM
Jun 12 10:05 PM
</TD><TD vAlign=center>-1</TD><TD vAlign=center>06/12/2008
11:52 AM </TD><TD>
MLB
MLB
MLB
</TD><TD>PARLAY (3 TEAMS)
[952] PIT -1½+165 ( J BERGMANN-R / GORZELANNY-L )
[962] SDG -1½+165 ( H KURODA -R / J PEAVY -R )
[975] NYY -1½+145 ( A PETTITTE-L / J BLANTON -R )

</TD><TD>
100 / 1500</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Now why question is, do I hedge the parlay by betting Oak and at least guarantee myself 7 units, or do I just 'let it ride'?

Any input would be much appreciated.
thanks!

if you're down for the week, I'd hedge it. Cause it would suck if you lost it on the last leg. If you were up, I'd let it ride.

GL to whatever you decide.

would not hedge 7

hedge about 5 on oakland +1.5 that way you either win 5 or 10 and there is some risk left. If you bet 7 you wouldn't benefit from the awesome Parlay you might hit. at the very least hedge 100 so you don't lose. whatever you do don't bet oakland w/o the runline.

I understand your reasoning but whether you are up +15 units or down -15 units, it shouldn't affect the decision-making process, IMHO. It would "suck if the parlay was lost on the last leg" even if you are up +50 units, just the same.

That's my reward/risk ratio that I would personally do (that is if I ever make those parlays to begin with, ha). I'd want to guarantee winning at least 5+ units, but hope to win 10 units on the successful parlay hit.

I would take a wager that middles your return. Regardless if NYY (-1.5) or OAK(+1.5) wins you still net the same profit. Don't have to worry about the game or get pissed in the bottom of the 9th if a defensive indifference without 2 cost you a game.

just tell her its not your kid. maybe she's been seeing someone else. not just you. you had a bad accident on your bike as a kid and you can't have kids. if none of this works maybe just play the NYY ml.

Winner boys!

Took A's to win after the first five innings for 7 units.

Now let's see a 5 run 7th by the yankees!!!!!

Thanks for the input guys!!

Never hedge a parlay. That is exactly what they want you to do. They already are killing you on parlays and now when you are about to cash you want to hedge. I understand the temptation but you are wasting your money betting a par if your not willing to ride it out. All a numbers game and hedging puts you at an even worse position statistically than when you bet it.

Probably one of the dumbest decisions I've ever made betting(except putting anything on the Mets),
