At 45 can Rocco Mediate become the oldest player to win the US Open. Current oldest player is Hale Irwin who won it at 45 years and 15 days in 1990. Mediate is the only player under par right now at 3 under.

Mediate will be 46 in December.

kinda dispelling the distance angle to golf...265 off the tee...really amazing he does not get intimidated by the short game, not to mention its a draw or nothing...

I'd love to see him win it. Its hard to believe he is older than hale irwin was when he won it last time. Didn't hale beat some no name guy in a 18 hole playoff the monday after the final round. Mike somebody?

Just went to -4 as he birdies the 10th hole. This is where he began to falter yesterday as the next few holes are tough.

I hope you are right. I feel like Rail, and thought the knee/injury situation would be too much this week.

Sadly I have some 'anyone-but-Tiger' at -330. hno:

Considering how bad he started today, that was just an amazing round. Maybe his knee will tighten up tonight! :lolBIG:

I betted Rocco against DJ Trahan in the 4th round. I'm hoping he will be able to hang in there and be competetive.

Rocco out to a great start -1 while Trahan is at +3. I'm hoping Rocco will win it not because I have money on him but to see a older guy win would be great.

Rocco just tied it with Tiger both at -2. Looks like a two horse race with Westwood coming up for Show.
