McHale would have KG in instant foul trouble.

Tell you what, this current team earned a ton of respect from me, and although I would certainly still rate the 86 team better(hell, they were one of the best teams ever), I think a lot of you are going to underestimate this current team, perhaps even myself.

This current team had tremendous depth, and of course we know they play tremendous defense.

I think the biggest advantage the 86 team would have would be in the post position with Walton and Parrish. Who was the best C this current team faced in the playoffs, Gasol???

Defense, speed, athleticism and depth of the current team. They would give the 86 team fits with their defense and transition game. When Ray lets a 3 fly that fast who is going to get a hand in his face? DJ?!

Not picking a winner. But if they can shut down KOBE, is anything out of the question?

Toug question and very hard. 86 team is the best Celtic team ever though. Nuff said. The rest is wild speculation.

Shutting down Parrish, McHale, and Larry Legend would be a much taller task than shutting down Kobe...........much taller.

I can picture shutting down Bird's shooting. Not his passing and scrapyness though. I can picture KG a wash on Parish. McHale goes wild. DJ and Ainge some great role players there. Still not as fast and as athletic as the 08 team. But the 86 team a bit more basketball savvy.

The current Celtics would be lucky to win a game. The league just isn't very good right now which makes people think they are a great team, but really they are just slightly above average playing against a bunch of below average teams for the most part.

Rondo as your starting PG? Give me a break. I can probably go to the gym right now and find a better PG.

This is the Tiger arguement vs. JN. Come on, do you really want to sit there and think competition isnt as good as it was 20 years ago?! Things are not as bunched up. But the talent and dedication is stronger than ever.

Why are you guys so hard on Rondo? 21 pts, 7 Reb, 8 ast, 6 steals!

You don't exactly get those numbers just because you happen to be on the floor.

:think2::think2::think2:

How many steals did he have last night?

Also, at one point in the 2nd half, he had more rebounds then the entire Laker team.

Remember also, this current team can also play all-star Ray Allen at the PG.

Those are some damn good numbers for a clinching game six!

Where do we get are headbands at?

You may have to shave your head like me Mr. Funk....

General observations

Rondo is 22 years old and just learning the progame - lets see where he is in 5 years. I will go out on a limb and say he outplayed Derek Fisher tonight.

FYI - the Celtics outrbounded the Lakers 48-29 tonight. Lamar Odom played 40 plus minutes and was 2 for 8 from the floor and was minus 34 points while he was playing which could be some kind of finals record.

Ray Allen scored 26 points on 12 field goal attempts and 3 free throw attempts. that 15 shots - he missed 4 of them and was 7 for 9 from behind the arc.

Say what:

no doubt. this is maybe the biggest mismatch in this series.

garnett will need to avg 20 a game for celtics to win.

Prince also made kobe disappear. Bell made him disappear in the elimination game last year. I think the Spurs would have beat Celtics this year. Too bad refs didnt let it happen.
