Has 1908 K's career and is 31 years old.

that would put him in some elite company, only Bert has not been shown love from the hall (of those eligible). Javier is pretty unsung but pretty consistant, this will be his tenth year of 30 + starts, pretty durable guy.

Remember many pitchers get better with age.

A very attainable milestone.

8-17-08:

Vazquez retired 13 of his first 14 batters. He struck out eight and did not walk a hitter as he moved into a tie with Al Leiter for 66th place on the career strikeout list at 1,974.

I wouldn't have been able to guess Javier Vasquez, even if you gave me his first and last name. I would never believe this guy has the most Ks since 2000.

The Braves starting pitching is going to be the best in baseball once Hudson returns. Look out Philly. Most of the Braves remaining games are at home too, in a pitcher friendly park.

JV is not a big game pitcher. Ask the White Sox about this.

Randy Johnson is #2 all-time in K's, he'll get in.

Roger Clemens is #3 all-time in K's, but first needs to worry about the Halls of Justice.

FWIW, Greg Maddux is #10, but he'll get in.
