Gotta pick your spots with going against the Rays at home but tonight is a tough task for the home team. I have watched almost all of Sonnanstine's games and he is average at best, and this game is a classic case of deception with ERA. There are not a lot of soft tossing righties who see much success against the better hitting line-ups in the league, sans a couple of stand-outs that come to mmind, so I think the Ray's recent addition should come back to reality tonight. He has been getting into trouble early and has been pitching with a lot of men on base. Fortnuately for him the Rays are averaging 5.2 runs per game in the last 10 he has pitched, but scoring runs off Z may prove tough even at home. The Rays are no doubt one of the best home teams, and I look to play them whenever I can at home, however all is not what it seems with the Z's road splits. He was 4-0 with a 1.67 ERA in his previous four on the road prior to getting crushed for 7 runs in 6 2/3 innings on June 7th. Normally NL teams and pitchers have a difficult time in AL parks but Z is 3-0 in his L3 starts in AL parks, allowing seven runs while striking out 23 in 21 innings. Lastly the attractive price being largely ignored by the betting public (fav less than 60% of the money) gives creditibity to this play as small favorite roadies in this situation (less than -130 in my book) usually do pretty well. Should be another good one at The Trop tonight, but Andy may be hitting the showers early tonight, and with Percy showing he is very hittable coming off the DL I am going to take a small shot with the vistors in the second game of this series pitting the best team in Baseball against the second best home team in Baseball.
