Even Signs pissed me off.
I really think its the awkward dialogue he writes that ruins it, nearly all of his characters have ZERO depth, so without a tremendous acting performance (like from a young Hayley Joel Osmond, or whatever the kid's name is from the Sixth Sense) it's painful to watch.
John Leguizamo was absolutely brutal to watch in the Happening.

funny thing about that is, that wasnt even his idea. a friend of mine was in the same writing class with shamalah or whatever the indians name is and he had a script called 'the sixth sense". However, my friend tells me no one in the class cared for it much as they all felt something was missing. well, one day a fellow classmate tells him, "why dont you make your main character dead and the only one that sees him is the little boy".
shamadueche dit it and the rest is history. pretty beleiveable story cuz how could sixth sense be so good and everything else hes done is pure shite.
