and seen people in agony asking - maybe even crying, begging,
and screaming - for someone to give them something to kill
the pain?

From time to time i think about getting some meds for situations
like this, of which i've been in a few times myself, though nothing
as horrific as i've seen others.

Can one lie to their doctor that they are at times getting terrible
attacks of pain and get a supply of T3s or even morphine?

Or do you have to risk trying to buy them from off the street or a
drug liberated country {Cambodia?}?

No idea, but I was crying uncontrollably last time I was there but it was because I had a cut on my eyeball. Wouldn't stop watering no matter what.

You may be given morphine in the ER, but it is a narcotic and the doctors are more likely to send you home with pain killers like Vicodin or Oxycodene.

Sometimes i've seen people in agony in ER & crying to be given some
painkiller, but the hospital staff gave them nothing. Wouldn't want to
be in that situation myself, hence the search for ways to get ahold
of some drugs should the situation arise for myself or the family.

can you, yes..but not likely to hand out the strong stuff right off the bat. Will start you off with lower grade painkillers, then only after a few return trips and complaints of no relief would they move you up the chain.

Also keep in mind every E/R keeps track of your trips there and has a full file of known "drug seekers"..depends on the e/r doc who see's you, I am sure there is a large variance in their leniency to pass out pain meds like candy.
