Thompson is a very successful minor league pitcher, 6-2 between AA and AAA with an outstanding 0.92 ratio.
Strikes out almost 9 per game in the minors.
Outstanding control walking less than 2 per nine.
Features 4 pitches, 3 off speed pitches, slider, change up and the hook.
Uses the curve ball for a first pitch strike, has a big break, throws it 68-71 mph zone.
Not afraid to go back to the hook down 1-0 in the count.
Uses the slider as his out pitch, but will leave it up in the zone at times, which hurts him at times.
Has a tendency to get excited on the hill at times, but overall Thompson's upside is high.
Not saying to fade the Yankees here, but this guy has major league talent, might keep the Yanks off balanced the first time around the order.

Yanks really getting pounded, now at -195. Way too much faith in Giese. The guy's a reliever moved to start for today. Don't see him going beyond 4 or 5 innings. Like the Reds in this spot...and I'm a Yankees fan.

Yankee team run over under went from 6 -115 to 6 runs over under -130.
Was going to play Yanks under 6 runs -115 not at -130.
Way too much juice.

hahahaha holy shit, cant believe Daryl Thompson is pitching, went out for some drinks last night with a couple people that I graduated high school with back in 04 and we were talking about the good ol' days of baseball. I played baseball with this kid growing up, he always had an extremely fast fastball but that was it, he had no junk at all. Alot of people struggled against him but I always used to rock him because you knew it was coming right down the middle. Good guy though and he definitely has developed his pitching since then. Wish I hadn't blown out my shoulder pitching :ohno:. I just saw this post and thought "WOW what a coincidence!"

He blew out his shoulder also in '05.
Had successful suregery, the kid has a terrific uncle charly, he's be a future middle of the rotation starter real soon.

off topic:
The kid Morton the Braves called up last week to start grew up and pitched here locally.
My wife's saloon filled up last week when he made his debut.

I'm dating myself here, I played against Willie Wilson in HS.(Summit HS, NJ)
Belive it or not, Wilson was a HS catcher, he had the best arm
