Thanks

It appears 25% of the corn crop in Iowa is going to be going by the wayside, meaning much higher food costs across the country.

Many on this board are from Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri............give us an idea of what your experiencing.

unless you live in a flood zone, i.e. along a major river. i doubt you felt a damn thing. Huge crops here in Champaign so far. These guys hopefully cancelled they futures hedges as they never made so much on corn and beans as they will this year.

Illinois has fared much better on the corn front compared to Iowa.

Many corn acres will be replaced with soybeans this year in Iowa.

Wisky got hit hard. Many cities with sewer backup. Seems all the news is on Iowa but we have at least 15 counties in disaster mode. The house I built and gave my ex had 20" of sewage in the basement, not my problem LOL. Insurance will not cover it. Told her to call FEMA

stl cards opened the flood gates on Daiske yesterday!
 <--hopefully this guy will be waving a broom later on.

To answer your question....

2 million acres of soybeans ^ corn have been lost due to floods in illinois, indiana, iowa, wisconsin

High corn prices will mean less livestock raised due to high cost of feed. Everythng at grocery store will be affected pretty much.

Yeah I don't see any real damage in Illinois. As you said Iowa is a fucking shit hole. The state was horribly hit. Iowa City sent its students home and I know many other towns were evacuated.

Illinois seems fine though.

Here in Texas I was at the store today and they had a sign that due to floods the potato chips maybe short. Kinda quick if you ask me to be placing that sign up.
