anyone else having a really up and down baseball season? Just when it starts to look like I am getting ahead, I crash and burn. I think I am done until after the all star break. If you have had success this baseball season I give you a lot of credit. Too many blown leads for me to overcome so far. Good luck to all.

I'm showing a minor profit for the season, but this has been so far the streakiest season of my life.
I had one run where I went 9-0-2 across 11 games for a profit of almost 34 units, and followed that up with a streak where I went 3-11-1 across 15 games, where I gave back 28 of those 34 units.

Yeah, blown saves are the reason for both the winning and losing streak.
Even the dependable closers are blowing saves.

Izzy has 6 blown saves.
Wagner has 5
Papelbon has 4, as well as last years save leader Valverde.

Valverdes blown saves have really hurt me. It seems like this guy is really horrible when I have money on the astros. I can't help but think the league's new focus on steroids has really hurt production at the plate and on the mound. There are some really terrible batting averages and extremely high era's. It's just my opinion, but I think many guys are off the juice and the numbers are down every where.

My advice, stick with flat 1 unit wagers unitl you get a better feel of what's going on.

p.s. looking at Haren real hard against Beckett.

I know, I know, it's Beckett and the Sox, but +165 is mighty tempting to overlook with one of the premier NL aces on the mound.

thanks for the advice. Arizona is another team that has been killing me. I had Webb yesterday, he gets a 3-0 lead and gives it back. I also had SF with a 10-3 lead and they lose 11-10. Terrible loss. I am just pissed at the whole thing right now.

This is interleague play for ya... last week was a roller coaster... 12-0 / 3-11 / 9 -1 / 1-4.... all over the place.. 26-20 overall (+5.457), 3 manager changes throughout the week... I think bullpens need to be takin into big concideration when capping ball lately, especially in interleague play.

It really was amazing. I can't believe half of the Giants bullpen hasn't been waived yet. They can't have any worse in the minors. That is a team I won't bet on again until the bullpen is somewhat fixed.

Couldn't agree more....Sox used a lot of their bullpen yesterday as well...I don't think Iwo Jima is available and Papelboner may not be able to pitch either.

Lohse held them to one run, Boggs and McClellan held them to three runs, and Pineiro held them to 2 runs. Not exactly stud pitchers. I think Haren has some real nice value here.

IL is such a joke. Unpredictable, lotta blasse play.

Been that way every year. After IL, tough to get feel for league play, then All-Star break, & repeat.

Many layoff first 3-4 weeks season, then up jumps the IL devil for a weekend, then 2 full weeks, back to regular play, break, blah-blah.

It's designed to give linemaker any edge, as they USED to take a bath on MLB.
And still fear it.

i've gotten killed before on Interleague..but recently i've been stressing money management for me. It's not easy for me to do cause i used to chase all the time but I'm trying. I've had some losing days but played my max when I liked a game. Guess I've been doing okay in picking more winners than losers too. But i've learned that betting is streaky. This weekend I did better. That's just my thinking.

good luck and hope things are better when you come back!

Stay the course IMO. Baseball is truly a grind day in and day out. I often question if it is worth it at times. IMO baseball is about adding a few extra units if your lucky to your bankroll by seasons end. If you're betting it everyday, you arent gonna break the man, at least not most of us, on baseball.

thanks for the advice everyone. I think I am still going to wait until after the all star break. Right now I am overthinking things and like I said before am really pissed. Went 6-0 Friday and 0-6 Sat and Sunday. Maybe stepping back and taking a breath will help.
