CPA Exam - 4 parts, you can take each part once per qtr, they expire after 6 quarters if you don't pass all 6....passing score 75.

Qtr 0 - Pass part 1
Qtr 1 - Pass part 2
Qtr 2 - Pass part 3
Qtr 3 - Had to cancel test last minute due to grandma funeral
Qtr 4 - Fail Part 4
Qtr 5 - Fail Part 4
Qtr 6 - Fail Part 4

First Part I took was what everyone said was the "hardest".....not for me....now I have to pass parts 1 and 4 in this next quarter or else I lose part 2.

When I got my score for part 4 today I wanted to throw my laptop out the window. Today feels like I wasted 18 months. I'm too old to study! sumunabitch!

Sorry had to vent.....oh yeah....100% cannot go to the bash now...fuck

I would gladly pay $4,000 to pass this POS test....in fact, i just paid $500 for fees to retake the two parts I need.

Looking back on my life, I would instantly have chose another major in college. Regardless, with my accounting degree and close to 5 years in public accounting, I think it would be -EV to not get CPA after my name.

Which one is Part 4?

The CPA is so much harder than the Bar Exam it's not even funny.

I'm sure you are already, but the best was to study is taking as many practice exams as possible over and over and reviewing the answers. Good luck.

sounds like you passed this thing....if so, nice job...

For me, I can comprehend all of the concepts, but I cannot memorize them. Tax, Financial, IT I can use logic to calculate the answers....I cannot memorize when the hell you modify a report and if a paragraph goes before or after an opinion...etc.

Nope, I didn't. But I had already decided on law school so I wasn't committed as I would have needed to be. I only passed the legal portion. Go figure.

When I went to Wisconsin-Whitewater back in the late 1970s, most of my dorm mates were Accounting majors. It is one of the best schools in the nation for accounting. By the time we graduated, my roomate and maybe two others were the only ones left with that major. they just grounded everybody else out. My roomie would have to study hours each day and he loved it. He passed his CPA on the first try and last I heard he was in Colorado with some big CPA firm.
The key is you have to love that crap. I would get headaches just looking at his homework. Good luck.

GL Man, at least you should have some confidence with FAR since you passed it already.

hope you werent on the brink with your AUD score, one of my friends failed aud with a 73, she nearly cried

Ive got to take REG this window or it will expire and ill have to pay the fees again. last one for me, looks like its going to be my toughest one, the corp tax part is going to kill me... didnt take it in college and i work as an auditor

passed FAR on my 1st try but barely with a 77

Failed AUD 3 times, 63, 69, and 72 this time....I wanna cry thinking about how I just lost all freedom for my next 2 months....and thinking that if I don't pass both in this window, I lose my REG for the next time....

not to bitch, but there was one window I had AUD at the end (last week of the window), my grandmother passed away and funeral was on test day....had to cancel the test and there are no more slots in the window remaining so I lost that chance. Tried to tell NASBA if I could get one more chance on AUD since I lost that window.....went to the Hawaii State Board of Accountancy during their last board meeting.....POS voted unanimously to deny my request!

I took it back in November 2002 when it was all 4 parts over 2 days. Be glad you dont have to do it like that!

Good Luck with the exam.

I cannot imagine doing it this way....I do not have the attension span to study enough for this....i would hear people would actually take time off from work to study for the test.

one of my co-workers started in paper test, passed 3 and they all expired on her. I cannot believe it is starting to happen to me.

Yeah...I studied for 6 months after finishing grad. school. After I got my results, it made every bit of it worth it though. Stick it out, and get through it. You will be very happy you did.
