The guy won about 20 division titles in a row, yet only 1 World Series? And that was in the strike year!!! I mean Glavine, Maddux, and Smoltz, arguable the best tandom of pitchers in the 90s and hardly any real titles to show for it. I mean a monkey could of coached that team to 3 World Series titles that decade... :lolBIG:
you guys are morons. seriously. absolute morons. Managing is about having the respect of the players, having them play hard for you and making the right moves at the right times. When it comes down to it though, its up to the players to make the plays. At what a manager is supposed to do, there is none better than bobby. Torre is definitely second, but to say bobby needs to go is miserably inaccurate. jesus christ, the team is starting a bunch of minor league players and hanging around .500.
Thought you had more class .... you lose a bet so make a reference to past history with his wife. You've blasted him several times this year so don't play the Braves. Fact is they have ONE starting pitcher that they can rely on ... without Smoltz, Glavine, Hampton, Moylan etc. they are at best average on the mound .... handicap it that way and you won't be so disappointed.
They won in 95 i thought 94 was the strike year with no world series winner..Every time they got to the world series they had to play the Yankees. No team was beating them at that time so I don't know what you want him to do. The majority of the games were not Cox's fault then it was untimely hitting and bad pitching. Maddux and Glavine were studs but both have less then stellar postseason numbers. Smoltz was great and that was it. They never had a good closer either. Rocker was always to juiced up to do the job and Mark Wohlers well was Mark Wohlers.
Ck then what would you say if you were a Mets, Phillies or Expos or Nats backer. That my team sucks so bad and lose to the braves year in and year out. The only team in the NL that has done more then Atlanta over the past 10-15 years is the Marlins with the 2 rings. Atlanta may only have 1 ring but it is 1 more then the majority of all the NL teams besides the Cards, Dbacks and Marlins
i guess i should be unhappy the braves will not be in the playoffs as over the yrs i have made good money off of them fading this bunch in the playoffs.just never thought Cox was that stud of a manger with what he have had to work with.just my opinion that all.but i guess the bottom line he won during the reg season and that put fans in the seats and it all about the money, but when it came to coaching in a big game in the playoffs Cox was not all that imo...............ck
