I have been reading any and everything out there about the NBA draft. A couple things that shock me is how everyone thinks that Derrick Rose is going to be better than Michael Beasley. I just don't see it. Rose had a great NCAA tournament, but why are people forgetting that Beasley put up better numbers than Durant in the same conference last season, all season. Another guy people are high on is Russell Westbrook. Really??? Him? He was arguably the 3rd best player on his team in college and now he is a lottery pick. Whatever. Anyways listed below my top 5 players coming out this season, along with the guys that I believe will be the biggest busts.

STUDS

1. Michael Beasley
2. Eric Gordon
3. Brandon Rush
4. Derrick Rose
5. OJ Mayo (The next Stephon Marbury)

duds

1. Anthony Randolph
2. Russell Westbrook
3. Deandre Jordan
4. Robin Lopez
5. Alexis Ajinca (Never seen this guy play but I don't understand how a guy that can only average 5 points in France, is going to be a good player in the NBA.)

I know this is not how the draft will go....but the two i see having a solid (not superstar) career are Beasley and Kevin Love

I'm not sure why everyone isn't giving props to Kevin Love, he will be a solid 10+ pts, 7+reb, and 3+ assists....great addition to any team

I dont think Westbrook is going to be a dud.. of course he doesn't really have the potential for superstardom , but he will be a solid player contributing above-average defense for whoever drafts him

Think it will take a few years for Love to excel...I think he gets better after every year of experience...

This may be true but he clearly has all the tools to compete in the NBA. What I like about him is that he is a fantastic passer....I think that is important because he is the type that will make the players around him better.

The only knock against him (which should have no influence) is that he is a white guy that doesn't have a cut/ripped body.

Dud - OJ Mayo. The next Marbury? Is that a compliment? First half of Marbury's career was great. Last half has been awful. Ask the Knicks if Marbury has been worth the trouble.

Sleeper - Joe Alexander. Believe it or not, he has some of the best strength/speed/vertical numbers in the draft.

Alexander could reach non-sleeper status. The sleeper that EVERYBODY talks about. So they're no longer a sleeper.

Well, you said it. Marbury is not a stud to say the least. Nobody should want to be the next Marbury. he has not won ANYTHING in his life.

1. Anthony Randolph

How is this not the most obvious choice ever. The guy is built like manute bol..has no outside shot. And the worst center in the NBA would clean his 150lb clock if ever even thought about going inside. seriously in his 1st 3 yrs, if he lasts that long , he may not see 30 mins total playing time. This guy looks and plays like he's 10 yrs old.

watch out for Joe Alexander...the coaching change with Huggins was the best thing that could have happened for his career...the kid had some nasty dunks this year...hope he enters the slam dunk contest
