MLB Best Bet for Wednesday:
Chicago White Sox -105 (Floyd/Stults)
I know the White Sox had lost their last 9 games on the road up until last night but I think the Dodgers are what the doctor ordered to cure that problem. The Sox seemed to have a little chip on their shoulder last night after being swept by their crosstown rival over the weekend and they know how important these games are against the Dodgers because they have to play the beloved Cubbies again this weekend. The Dodgers in my opinion are just plain bad. I think not having Andruw Jones, Rafael Furcal, and Nomar Garciaparra may have something to do with it but this team can't hit at all. I think Floyd will be out to redeem himself as he has not had much success in the past against the Dodgers but he will be facing a much weaker line up tonight then in the past. Floyd has been consistent all season going 8-3 with a 3.19 ERA. In his last five starts, he is 4-0 with a 3.66 ERA and the White Sox have picked up victories in all five of those games. Not to mention that the White Sox are an outstanding 10-4 team when Floyd toes the rubber. Stultz on the other hand had a good outing against the Cincinnati Reds in his first start of the season. But one start doesn't make a pitcher and if you do your homework on this guy, it could be that his first start was a fluke or just was against bad competition. Last year in 12 games and 5 starts he boasted an ERA well over 5.00. I'm not ready to jump on this kid anytime soon especially with the lousy run support that he gets. He might have to throw a shut out tonight to get the win because Floyd will be dominant in my opinion. The White Sox are the play here tonight and this is a great price to get them at.
