Boston Red Sox 50-32

other end of the spectrum only one team has 50 loses.

Seattle Mariners 29-50:ohno:

Boston has two big series on the road scheduled to begin next Monday. Three games at 2nd place and playing very good baseball Tampa Bay followed by a 4 game 4th of July weekend set at Yankee Stadium against the the 43-37 Yankees.

Springs, Texas native (not far from Houston) Josh Beckett pitches Sunday afternoon against the Houston Astros and Brian Moehler to complete the 2008 interleague schedule for both teams. Jason Lester goes Sat. night at Houston against Brian Backe.

The homecoming for Beckett is his first as a Red Sox. Prior to Friday, Houston was the only team the Red Sox had not played in a regular season game on the road ever. Boston did sweep a three-game series from the Astros June 13-15 at Fenway Park. ..

These next nine road games should tell Sox fans a lot about how good this team will be in 2008. Right now they are only one game behind the pace they set in 2007 after 82 games of a season where they won the World Series. The problem has been winning on the road where they are a weak 19-22 so far this season.

Apparently The DRays are for real as they continue to win almost every night. Tampa is 8-2 in their last ten starts. This three game set between Tampa and Boston should be some hard played and exciting baseball. The winner of the series is likely to be in first place in the AL East next Thursday morning.

Scheduled pitching matchups for Boston vs Tampa Bay series:

Monday June 30th:
BOS: J. Masterson
TB: J. Shields

Tuesday July 1st:
BOS: T. Wakefield
TB: M. Garza

Wednesday July 2nd:
Probably but still TBA:
D. Matsuzaka
S. Kazmir

Boston's streak of 12 2/3 scoreless innings from its relievers ended Friday when Houston pinch hitter Reggie Abercrombie hit a solo homer off LHP Hideki Okajima in the eighth. The run also ended a 22-inning scoreless streak by Red Sox pitchers, the team's longest since July 2006.

RF J.D. Drew broke a 0-for-14 slump with a key three-run homer in the third inning of Boston’s win over Houston on Friday night. Drew finished the night 1-for-3 and is hitting .259 over his last seven games. Despite the slight swoon, Drew still ranks among the American League’s top 10 in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, runs, walks and home runs.

11—The number of consecutive starts that ascending LHP Jon Lester has allowed three runs or less in a game. That marks the longest stretch of consistency from a Sox starter since former RHP Pedro Martinez went 16 straight starts of allowing three runs or less in 2002-2003.

Finally: David Ortiz is about three weeks from being back on the able to perform roster. He may play a few games at Pawtucket to prep when he is ready to face live pitching.

If you concede your U74.5 bet I will give you a chance to break even. Best 2 out of 3 wins.

Thanks but no thanks, plenty of bookmakers around to wager with. I definitely would never try to take money from a poster.

Wil,
I got the 'rockin Rays at 33-1 to win AL pennant.
So long as they get wildcard i got to figure how to hedge some.

The Twins are the best team in baseball it appears.

Excellent oppurtunity for their 3rd Championship in less than 23 years.

Great fans up there in the upper midwest, they deserve it.
