I just changed yesterday from Road Runner Cable internet to a local company that services my community called "EnTouch Systems."

The internet works fine when I plug directly from the wall to the computer (modem that does the phone and internet is mounted in master closet now and runs through the walls and out outlets) but when I attempt to set up my Linksys WRTP54G (Linksys+Vonage from when we had Vonage) it does not work.

When I run the setup CD it came with it gets all of the way to the end then I get a pop up saying there is no internet and to unplug my modem for 60 seconds which I then do but it accomplishes nothing.

When I call Linksys they say it will be $29.99 if I want service because it is outside of a year.

Can anyone help?

Have you connected your modem to the router and then the router to your PC/Laptop using the wires ?

If so did it work ?

The problem is with your router then. The internet worked fine wirelessly the last day you had your old set up ?

Did you try the reset button at the back ? You need to stick a safety pin in the hole at the back and hold for 5 seconds.

i will have my revenge falco...

Joey, router worked great up until i unplugged the old one to plug in the new one. Even when I spoke with Linksys they said they could help me it would just cost 30 bucks which i could buy something new for 50 so what the hell.

But I don't want to buy something new as I am sure this one is perfectly fine.

And I have done the reset button.

I use VisionJet for my laptop.........it's free, its as fast as anything out there, and it works all over the country.

Why anyone would pay $60 a month for an internet card is beyond me.

Did you try going into the router admin panel and running the setup wizard?

I had a similar issue when I upgraded my COX service and ended up getting a new router.

sure did Rick. i run it and i get to the 13th step and it searches for a connection and when it does not find one you are at a dead end with the software.

you probably just need to call EnTouch and tell them you've added a router to your home system.
