The youth reportedly climbed over a fence and was hit by Batman ride

AUSTELL, Ga. - Cobb County police are investigating a death at Six Flags over Georgia in which a teen-age boy reportedly was decapitated, according to WXIA television in Atlanta.

Authorities told the NBC affiliate's Web site, 11Alive.com that around 2:30 p.m. that the boy was decapitated when he was struck by the Batman ride, a coaster at the amusement park that can travel as fast as 50 miles per hour. The park is just west of Atlanta.

According to a Six Flags representative, a group of young people jumped over a perimeter fence near the Batman ride as it was coming. The teen was then struck and killed.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported on its Web site, ajc.com, that the teen's family was at the park with him when the accident occurred.
"We do not know why this person was intent on gaining access to this restricted area, as multiple signs clearly state: Danger Zone/Do Not Enter/Authorized Personnel Only," park spokeswoman Hela Sheth said in a statement reported by the Web site.

"Some witnesses have stated that the individual was trying to retrieve something he had lost," Sheth said. "Others reported that he was trying to touch the ride. This is merely speculation at this point, and we are working with park visitors and local police to learn more."

No one on the ride was injured, Sheth said in the statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family," the Six Flags statement said. Cobb County police declined to confirm reports that the teen was decapitated, according to the newspaper Web site.
According to Six Flags' Web site, the coaster was first introduced in 1997 and is close to 11 stories tall. It includes two vertical loops, two corkscrews and a heartline spin that produces a "feeling of weightlessness."

I'm sure a dumbass jury will give the family $25-$30 million for this, stating that there should have been a guards stationed around th ride or some other horseshit. Terrible for the kid, but that is not a very bright thing to do.

Oh. Imus wants to know what color the kids were.

Least he got to die instead of being paralyzed the rest of his life or losing a couple limbs.

I know plenty of people who are glad to be alive despite losing limbs, I dont think dying was the better option in this situation. But yeah the kid was a dumbass.

You'd think he would still have time to see this thing coming and least lay down on the ground or something.

His reaction time must have completely sucked. He was at least 13 so it is not like its a toddler who accidentally got in the way of a speeding train.

When you sit mby one of those copasters, you can get a feel for when it is approaching and going to whiz by you. That thing is only a halfway fast coaster to at 50mph max. speed.

Officially, I rule that it is a suicide by coaster

I absolve the park of any wrong doing. See how easy that is, now money will be wasted for a lawsuit which the park will settle out of court with bs attorney fees

I live in Atlanta and work right down the road from six flags. I may be wrong but I think I recall a story like this from a few years ago. It doensnt suprise me the ride hangs down from the top so it was proably someones foot that hit him. Im sure the kid thought he would get hit but how it hangs down its very possible and like ii said i think this is the second incident. I dont undrstand how you make a fence a kid can get over anyway. why not make it 15 feet and cut down any trees near it.

What happened Buster? Someone jumped into an enclosure they shouldn't have, got themselves killed and the family sued?
