This weekend I changed my cable company and what I got is much cheaper but sucks large donkey testicles.

So who do you have, do you like it yada yada yada...

If you do not have HD I am not really interested in your opinion...

THANKS IN ADVANCE

I have cable with Comcast and have no problems with it at all. I used to have Dish network but I like the cable better. I would say a drawback of cable would be that if you wanted the NFL package you need a dish. I guess it all depends what you're looking for.

On a side note, couldn't you use one of those donkey testicles?

Texans - I have had Comcast for years and overall I have been pretty happy... recently they have really screwed over some billing issues and they have not lived up to some promises to fix some earlier screw ups. I do love the HDMI DVR I had from them as it was really fast... Internet was never a problem with them but customer service has always been very poor IMO...

BROCK - I am leaning hard towards DirecTV for the reason you mentioned... HD Channels. Answer a couple of questions for me if you will...

1. Do you have their DVR? If so is it fast? Sounds like a stupid question but one of the reasons I am dumping the current company is the box is so damn slow and non user friendly. You will be scrolling and it will get backlogged to where you stop pushing the button but it has to go another 3 or 4 times before it catches up.

2. How much do you pay?

I would go with DirectTV if you wanted a dish. I hated Dish network.

As far as cable goes I also have my high speed internet with Comcast and I really like it.

DirecTV has the best programming but is an absolute disgrace of a company as far as customer service is concerned. They'll mess up your bill then have you talk to people who barely speak English for hours upon hours until someone finally does it right. I quit because they messed up so much and it was so hard for them to fix simple things.

Dish Network is probably second for programming. Bad customer service but not horrible.

Cable has the least programming but the customer service I've gotten has been badass and easy.

I'm keeping cable. They haven't messed up stuff like DirecTV or Dish have and I can actually understand their CS guys. God forbid I get ahold of someone who knows what they are doing AND how to speak English.

DirecTV sucks plain and simple. That company has bigtime issues doing simple tasks.

i have seen this from you before and it is one of the reasons i hesitate but with cable i am getting double charged and no one will do a damn thing about it... worse they deny it then when i contest it with my bank they cut me off. i have had the absolute worst CS experience ever with comcast.

I guess it's different with everyone. I had terrible customer service with the dish and I have no problems with Comcast.

Direct TV had the worst customer service I have ever experience in my life. i was never so frustrated and dont think i ever will be. I'm sure if they ever actually made it into my house and conncected it, the actual programming would have been wonderful, but their incompetency couldn't get them that far.

My cable network gets the job done and the customer service is top notch

i have 2 HD DVR's, could not do it any other way, once you have a DVR you never go back, they are fast as lightening!

how anyone on a board like this doesn not have directtv is beyond me.

best service out there.
i agree, they have everything there is under the sun, and since i have no need or reason to call customer service, i can't report anything negative against them.

without question directv, great programming and Jake overstates their CS problems. It isn't as good as it used to be, but it is still fine. Any time I have needed them they have resolved the issue. His issues seemed to be based around a unique billing arrangement that you won't have. Programming is great, always adding new channels (but honestly, I was going through them last night to set up my guide and WOW do they have a lot of garbage in those 700 channels). Seriously, DTV and don't think twice about it. HDDVR is a must.
