I wish I could figure out a way to get all of these polls in one thread. I think this could be great info to all of us.

No one including the moderator responded to my request to help with that task.

I would be glad to try this again if everyone is in favor of it.

If you bet $100 on each game last night taking the favorite pick you would have won $340.

That's the problem..I can't figure it out. Who can we contact with RX to see if they could work on this for us? You guys have been around much longer than me.

I was just thinking about it. It is unfortunate that the forum software (vBulletin) is designed to have only one poll per thread. If you were able to put all the game matchup in one thread by separate posts with a poll inside each post, it'd be heaven to read the forum & that thread.

I'm not sure how you can best do this. Since the max is 8 for a poll, you could squeeze in 3-4 games in one poll into a group of several threads---- based on time-- so you can close the poll ON the hour of the East Coast games and etcetera (to prevent people from past-voting).

Example:

Thread Title #1: PIT/CIN, PHI/ATL, WAS/FLA
(all NL starting shortly after 7pm ET)
Thread Title #2: TEX/NYY, KC/BAL, BOS/TB
(all AL starting shortly after 7pm ET)
Thread Title #3: LAD/HOU, NYM/STL, CLE/CWS, DET/MIN
(all AL/NL games starting shortly after 8pm ET/7pm CT)
Thread Title #4: SD/COL, MIL/ARI, CHC/SF, OAK/LAA
(all AL/NL games starting after 9pm ET/7pm MT; go ahead and close poll by 9pm ET even if last game still has 1 more hour of voting but by then, we would have all day and evening to decide on the West Coast games)

Also, make sure you post a common widely available number next to both teams so we can make accurate results.

I like that idea. If I can get some more support I will do it. I don't want to be "that guy" that hogs the forum space...I just want to help others and myself get paid! If you are reading this please give your opinion if I should post these polls each day. Thanks!

I understand. I agree with the masses that 13-16 threads is very silly and throws off the MLB forum big time. It also messes with number of created threads (which the Rx forum could end up being accused of padding their number of threads, and that'd be untrue).

But a maximum of 4 threads would be fine, and when somebody wants to vote for a game (i.e. CLE/CWS), they find the thread & may end up also voting for some/all other games in that thread, too.

I may have come off slighty rude to you yesterday when I told you to stop cluttering up the baseball forum with 10 threads. Did not mean to sound like an ass.

I think you have a great idea, there just needs to be a way to get it all in 1 to 4 threads.

There is not a way to do this with therx software, but it can be done with a homemade program that you can import into a single thread.
If someone is willing to make a basic program to do this, it would be nice.

No problem Chop. I didn't take it that way. I knew myself I took up way too much space. I was hoping the idea would catch on and someone would come up with a better way. I am going to try it again using Calvin's method. BOL with your picks today!

This one is even better. Its free.

Free is good. This software won't work because it is an .hgml format that is not supported as a download in this forum. Way above my head....Maybe one of the mod's or managers can help out with this. They have the geek squad working for them...

randy i have a much needed suggestion.

The poll has to have widely avail number by them or it means nothing.... people play games based on the line if they were betting so it makes no sense to not show them the line when they are polling.

jus a thought -

also..i think if u want in future u could jus do marquee matchups...afterall....what u are trying to do is go against the public here...so the public doesnt bet the lower profile games neways......

but seriously its random what u are doing neway..cause 100% of people arent voting...so its still a coin flip wether people choose heads or tails....for instance....if yanks are a loveable team..u may see more people click on them with no intention of betting them..yet they do end up playing milw that nite and never mentioned or clicked it...

so it is completely 100% random...BUT i wish u success in future.

Thanks for the input Murphy. I wanted to test these polls out over the next couple of days to see what we get. I thought the picks would be similar to the tout selections making them possible fades but it didn't work out that way. We will see how it goes tonight...

Randy, just something to keep notice on... I noticed that yesterday theRX poster's picks were very similar to the tout tally for the day. Check it out:

TEAM RX TOUT
NYM 1 8
STL 15 15

CLE 6 5
CWS 16 19

BOS 7 7
TB 14 11

KC 13 6
BAL 6 4

TEX 9 1
NYY 14 7

LAD 2 4
HOU 9 8

CHC 9 9
SF 5 5

SD 2 2
COL 5 5

OAK 8 5
LAA 3 9

DET 9 9
MIN 8 2

TOR 6 8
SEA 7 7

MIL 4 6
ARI 4 9

WAS 8 5
FLA 6 3

PIT 3 4
CIN 3 4

That's a total of 11 same, 3 different on the sides-tally of picks. All of the lop sided ones were the same, and all of the close ones were very similar. So basically, what you've got here are a modified tout tally. I don't know if thats because people are only reading the tout information and are getting biased, or if they're just going with the "common play"... not sure. But, personally, I get nothing out of this so far as the picks are pretty much a duplicate. The only game with a serious difference was the OAK/LAA game.
