24 of 30 MLB teams have a winning record at home.
The exception being the worst teams in baseball:

Washington
San Diego
Seattle
Kansas City
San Francisco
Colorodo

The home record of all other teams combined is 607-398 or approx 65%.
Is playing small to medium home favourites and small home dogs the only way to go?

Something to consider.

I have read that most of year. I know you would be way up if you had bet most small home favorites, hindsight is 20/20.

Nothing in this game is "the only way to go". But this season it is something to look at closely. Can be the deciding factor in many instances, however handicapping decisions are most often multi-causal and each situation stands on its own set of circumstances. In other words, don't hang your hat on this trend alone.
