Definitely prefer a Cardinals team that finds ways to win over a Mets team that finds ways to lose. Also prefer the promising arm of Mitchell Boggs over the predictable and ineffective Mike Pelfrey. Pelfrey has a BAA of .303, which is awful but it gets worse once he hits the road. In fact, in seven road starts covering 36 frames, Pelfrey has surrendered 54 hits; he’s walked 23 and struck out just 16. His BAA against on the road is a whopping .353 to go along with a 6.38 ERA. Furthermore, the Mets just can’t get anything going and this place is about the toughest on them then as any, as the Mets have won just seven of their past 24 games in St. Louis. Mitchell Boggs has started four games for the Cards and they’ve won all four. He allowed just one run in six innings in his last start in Kansas City and he seems to be getting better with each start. The league is hitting just .353 off him and that’s after facing KC, Boston, Philly and Cincinnati at Great American Ballpark. The Cardinals are heating up again with four wins in their last five games and they’re definitely not stepping up in class against Pelfrey. Play: St. Louis –1 +1.32 (Risking 2 units).
