If I see that come from a valid source I would believe it. He has definitely been struggling this year.

Yes it is im sorry. Is he by any chance on a contract year? I know he is only making $480,000 this year.

Uhh...DFA'd? That's the baseball equivalent of "cutting" somebody. He got sent to AA.

If the Braves DFA'd Francoeur every team in the majors would be trying to snap him up. Granted he's having a terrible season but he's a 24 year old corner OF with 30/100+ power. He's still got a lot of years before anybody writes him off.

As for his contract status; if I am correct he will be eligible for arbitration at the end of this year.

I don't care if he's a having an off year hitting, he a fabulous fielder with a great arm for RF. Stick w/him.

Being designated for assignment doesn't mean you're being cut if you have options left which Francoeur obviously does.

Being in AA is better then being in AAA. The better players are in AA. So atleast he was sent to double.

Anybody who writes this kid off is nuts and has no clue about baseball...the guys complaining probably have had him on their fantasy rosters...he is also having trouble with his vision....
