I'd be careful going to those sites.

I would expect them to play hard ball much worse than the music recording industry.

You're just asking for trouble IMO.

holy christ....

for a whopping $10 you can see movies at an air conditioned theatre on a BIG GIANT SCREEN with a mega sound system.

for a whopping $1-2 you can get almost any movie you want from Netflix and watch it in comfort of your living room on your sorta big screen with good sound system

OR YOU can spend $0 and sit in your computer chair and watch a movie on your 19" monitor with those dinky ass computer speakers.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

As long as you dont download and watch on-line they wont go after you....IMO...Just like music they are going after users that download and share or upload...watch on-line and you are set.

I work 6 days a week 9-12 hours a day...I have a kick ass monitor w/ a pair of headphones that rival some set-up people have at home. I dont go to the movies on my only day off....so thats why I watch on the net.:toast:

Here's what I do:

Download a program call Utorrent

Go to a site called "Mininova.com" Search for a guy calld "axxo". They guy uploads a ton of movies not yet out on DVD, and is DVD quality. The downloads are 700MB's or so, which won't take more than 25 minutes tops on a decent broadband connection, as there are thousands seeding his stuff.

I have an Xbox 360, so I just put the movie on a flash drive, put the flash drive in my Xbox and watch the movie on my nice, big LCD TV.

Oh, and don't take worry about getting caught. It's all a scare tactic. If anyone gets caught, it's the ones downloading and uploading 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. They aren't going to come after you if you only download a few movies a week.

QUESTION...The SheBar just hooked us up with a PS3 for primary purpose of watching BluRay

Could I do what you're doing by downloading video into a flash drive and then plug it into the PS3 for replay on my nice big LCD TV?

The FXG team does a nice job as well. Whatever you do, dont seed the movie after you download it. The first few movies that i downloaded, i failed to take out of the qeue and they automatically started seeding. Next thing you know, im receiving a warning letter from the cable company. Just be careful!

Sadly, I think the PS3 has some sort of built in anti-piracy software or it's missing some codecs, as it won't even recognize the movie on the flash drive. All I know is, movies off the flash drive won't work on my PS3, only the xbox 360.

Thanks for the feedback.

It so happens that newly arrived (to Clearwater) Barman Jr has an XBox 360.

But he's unfamiliar with how a flash drive would be employed.

I presume there's a USB port?

And how does one manuever the contents of the flash drive via the Xbox controller?

Oh, if this is in the owners manual, just tell me that and I'll point him there.
