this line seems awful high for marquis who has not pitched since last tuesday when he got shelled at wrigley. Sf is looking mighty tempting at +money. cubs are starting to come back to earth at home as well:103631605

The Giants hope to snap out of their funk on Friday when they meet Jason Marquis (6-5, 4.78 ERA), who has struggled at Wrigley. The right-hander gave up seven runs in four innings of his last home start—an 11-4 loss to Baltimore on June 26—to fall to 3-3 with a 6.29 ERA in eight starts there
Marquis has fared better on the road, although he suffered a 2-1 loss to San Francisco in his last start July 1. Marquis, who fell to 3-1 with a 2.56 ERA in six career games against the Giants, held them to two runs and four hits in seven innings.

San Francisco’s Friday starter Matt Cain (5-7, 4.30) got the win in that game, giving up two hits and striking out 10 in eight scoreless innings and improving to 4-2 with a 3.29 ERA in six career starts against the Cubs.

This game is a tough game to cap. Over should be good if wind is blowing out. But Cain has pitched quite well against the cubbies and right now SF isnt hitting worth a lick. That could change against the cubs.

Tough, tough game. I can make cases for both teams and the over/under. I was going to bet SF but now I am unsure.

That sums it up. SF will be my bet today for 3 units. 91% on the cubs and line really hasnt moved. Books want all the action they can get on the cubs today and clean up.

Played the over 10 @ 5Dimes and over 11 at another book. The wind is blowing out to center harder than it did yesterday and will make both teams look like Murderers' Row LOL. The Giants bat will come alive with these conditions and Marquis isn't an automatic out. All signs point to a football score like we saw yesterday with the Reds

books adjusted the opener .5 over what yesterdays line was yet everybody seems to think its to high a number still gotta love it with this when the move it back .5 and still 78% under marquis got light up last out at home and that was with no wind. I watch every cubs game

Why the over?

San Fran has had a hard time knocking in runs this week and if the Giants are going to win this game, it's because Matt Cain has a stellar performance.

At 11.5, I'm leaning towards the under.

91% on the Cubs, no line movement.

I may have to add some units to this play...

I think the books took into effect that the Giants can't seem to hit the ball off a tee sometimes and are an inept offense where the Reds have some thumpers in the lineup. Bettors are buying into Giants inept offense and underestimating the wind. I love these daytime, windy Wrigley games. Most are easy overs.

LOOK AT THE REDZ OFFENSE YESTERDAY COMPARED TO THE FIRST TWO GAMES OF THIS SERIES THATS WHY I LIKE THE OVER~ THE WIND WILL MAKE ALL THE DIFFERANCE TODAY PROBABLY WONT PLAY THE OVER STILL DO LIKE IT I THING THE BEST THING HERE IS INVEST THE MONEY IN SF ML ~

You shouldn't see any non exotic 11.5s right now. It dropped a half run since this morning. I paid the extra vig at 5 dimes and got 10 and I'm hold some at 11 too. Don't be surprised if you see Ray Durham go deep :nohead:

The Reds offense is also head and shoulders above what San Fran's going to throw out their on any given day.

Where's the power going to come from? Bengie Molina in the clean up spot?

For those of you who like S.F., you relaly need to think of this. Some of you know that S.F. offense is putrid and with today's conditions you know they will need to score to win because the Cubbies will score runs today minus a Cy Young effort from Cain. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cubs put up 10 themselves today. Hence the over is the best options in my eyes
