Anyone ever do this with stubhub or anything? I was just looking at the 08-09 schedule and checking various teams tickets and I noticed a lot of people sell season ticket packages for clear to fair value on Stubhub. Would it be possible to buy season tickets for different teams in bulk and then sell those tickets on an individual basis? It seems like it would work, although, you would be taking some risk by putting the money up in advance....

It really depends. Some teams you are better selling season tickets, depending who is on the home schedule, while others you are better of selling game by game.

BT, do you do it at all? I've got a few teams in mind that seemed to have more value in doing it than others. Teams like NE who just raised their tickets from 120 to 170 have slimmed the margins some. Another thing that is a hindrance is the fact you have to buy the 2 preseason games with the tickets. That is basically sunk cost since nobody wants to go to those games, can't give em away.....

with the economy the way it is there is no way you should try this..i did it last year and made out good..my buddy stayed in and he has lost major dollars on concerts this year..he has been only able to sell at about 25% of original price to most..

I think concerts are a lot more cyclical than NFL games though. Did you sell NFL games? If so, of what team and what were some of your methods? Since you are out of the business, I'm guessing you won't mind sharing....

actually had a lot better luck with concerts...always sold on craigslist or stub hub..tripled money on most concerts...by the time NFL rolled around, did good on games early in season (panthers),but as holidays approached really started sucking and i knew i was done...

with gas and food prices as high as they are and with you being up north (i can't imagine how much people up there will spend to heat their homes this winter) you would be better of getting you a part time job for 15 or 20 hours a week,if you are trying to make extra money...there is not a sicker feeling in the world than sitting outside the stadium holding 8 tickets you paid 500 bucks for and the game has already started

Been doing it on Ebay for 8 years now.

Preseason games, I usually try to get $25 for a pair on Craigslist. You are right that it is a sunken cost for the preseason.

If you have any questions, you get my email from a Mod.

Say you bought 4 Pats season tickets and they played bad early, looking like they will miss the playoffs. You will lose some serious money on those tickets. Now factor in NE weather in December, and it is risky. I know Bears tickets are very available in December for face value, tops - unless they are doing great.
