After the Yankees' third loss in four games, starting pitcher Andy Pettitte summed it up: "We stink right now."

The Yankees are six games behind the Red Sox (who took over the AL East lead) and 5½ behind the Rays. "I think we're in a decent position," manager Joe Girardi said. "We could be buried."

For what its worth, AJ Burnett has looked good lately and the Yankees saw his stuff first hand yesterday. I really believe Steinbrenner will ante up to get this guy before the deadline.

Yankees offense stinks for whatever reason, but you cant give up 4 runs to the blue jays with no wells or rios and complain about losing.

same BS pitching sucks, real early to say they are done but I don't think they will make the playoffs, I believed it at the beginning of the season and even more so now

Im a huge Yanks fan and its actually not the pitching its the offense.
Do you know they are only behind 1 team for the most games scored 3 or under.
Bullpen is actually doing the job Veres to Farnsworth to Mo
They are not scoring but will still be there in the end of sept

I remember Damon making similar comments not too long ago.

If the morale doesnt pick up on this team it could get ugly

No way Toronto trades Burnett to the Yankees. He's going to the NL or nowhere. You don't trade top pitchers inside the division, and if they do they better get a shitload for him. If it ends up being for someone like Ian Kennedy I'm going to be pissed.
