The Knicks will sign guard Anthony Roberson later Wednesday, which further indicates that Stephon Marbury might be a goner with New York.

<!-- INLINE HEADSHOT (END) -->Roberson's agent, Chris Grier Luchey, told 1050 ESPN that Roberson should sign a two-year deal for a little more than $1.6 million.
"I think they see Anthony as a guy who can come off the bench and score, providing a sparkplug," Grier Luchey said.
The Knicks will now have 16 players on their roster. They will only be allowed to have 15 players when the season begins. Along with Marbury, Jerome James is also a candidate to be released. Both are in the final years of their contracts.
Roberson has previously played with the Warriors and the Grizzlies. He has averaged 4.1 points in 36 career NBA games. He played his college ball at Florida.
The New York Post, citing unamed sources, first reported that the Knicks would sign Roberson.

I understand change is sometimes good, but Isiah is gone and Marbury still got the skills to start in the NBA.

I am by no mean a fan of his anymore BUT if he gets his head on straight he can still get the ball to the hoop like few PG really can.

The Knicks are gonna cut him and basically pay him to not be here. Thats so stupid, why not start off the season with him and if things go sour than cut him?

what do they gain by cutting him?

Just imagine he plays to his old self, he is only 31 or 32, he can have real trade value with only one year left on contract

his contract is a killer, only good for teams looking for a 1st rounder or someone decent off there team like a lee in exchange for that contract.

But it expires after this season, not really a killer.

Because he is a worthless scumbag who doesn't deserve to wear the uniform. The Knicks aren't going to win very much this year anyhow, and I don't want him near any of the young players on our team, hell, any players on our team, for one minute more so he can continue to poison the franchise. If he wins you an extra 5-6 games, what's that worth, compared to the absolute circus that follows him and the poison pill he is to any team he's ever played on?

They can't get that loser out of there fast enough, in my opinion. I say purge the entire team of any of these overpaid hacks from the Isiah era that you can and let's get this thing back on track NOW.

I completely agree. IMO Knicks should try for another lottery pick next year. Only way they get better within the next few years is by drafting young talent and getting under the cap asap.
