FOXSports.com has learned that the Miami Dolphins have agreed to terms on a trade that would send the All-Pro defensive end and reality show star to the 'Skins in exchange for a second-round pick.
The teams were hopeful to have the deal finalized later Sunday night.
The move speaks volumes about the severity of the injury sustained by Redskins defensive end Phillip Daniels during the first day of Washington's training camp.
According to reports, Daniels injured his left anterior cruciate ligament during 7-on-7 drills Sunday and it was believed that the injury was season-ending.
Taylor started all 16 games for Miami during the Dolphins' woeful 2007 season. But even as the Dolphins went 1-15, Taylor still showed a glimmer of the ability that made him the 2006 Defensive Player of the Year, leading the team with 11 sacks.

AFOS....its not like the Skins had a choice. They lost not only there starting LDE but also his backup on the first day of training camp. They had to get a veteren to fill the void. This actually makes the skins D dangerous. Taylor coming of 11 sacks and Carter coming off a 10 sack season. I feel sorry for the skins opposing QB's this year.

Their best player is Ronnie Brown.

As for the trade it was great for both teams. Miami has no use for Taylor because by the time they're in playoff contention again he'll be retired, so you have to trade him away for some picks to help rebuild your team. Good trade by Miami. It was also huge for Washington because Taylor is still a force coming off the end. Don't be surprised if Washington is in the Super Bowl this season.

I think this move will the Skins D one of the best in the league.

This finally, gives them a pass rush which even without had them as the #8 defense last year. I am wondering if losing Greg Williams will set them back.

There season now depends on how JC runs the offense.

I will be surprised if they finish ahead of the Cowboys and Eagles....Superbowl is a strech...

Skins pick up another name. they continually let picks and young players go for big name vets. it may look good now but if they dont go deep in the playoffs it wont be worth it. redskins are just trying to keep their fan base excited about everything other than wins and success. this team is so sad. they dont have any identity. they lose a coach everyother year, a new qb every other year, and the roster moves are ridiculous.
