still with no pitching behind hamels they cant get past either the brewers or cubs i dont think. that lineup is great but the brewers bring sabathia / sheets and the cubs zambrano / harden and hamels can only pitch 2 times in 1 series. behind him the phils are absolute junk

Stupid deal if they make it, but I guarantee they won't. When was the last time the Phillies made a big move at the deadline? I sure as hell can't remember. Holliday is a great player, but the Phillies don't need another bat. Fuentes would be a nice fit because they need another lefty with Romero, but they need a #2 starter to team up with Hamels. If they were willing to deal Carrasco and Victorino then I don't know why they didn't get CC or Harden. Either way its a bullshit rumor and I guarantee it won't happen.

The Indians got way better then Victorino and Carrasco for CC. Carrasco is 5-7 this year with a 4.02 ERA. Matt Laporta at the time of the trade had 66 RBIs 20 homeruns and was batting in the high .280s. I would of definitely took Laporta and the other guys the Indians received over Carrasco and Victorino, but thats just me.

It won't happen, and it would be a terrible deal for the Phillies if it did. Why would they trade for Holliday? You can't win a World Series with just hitting. As much as fans think you can, you can't. Good pitching will shut down good hitting, just look at the All Star game as proof. If I'm Colorado and I can get a top 10 prospect, plus a couple other prospects added in the trade I pull the trigger in a second. This team won't be a winner for a while and Holliday is most likely gone when his contract expires, so why not think ahead and get a young stud for him?

The Phillies could use Fuentes though. Apparently Duchscherer is on the block too. That is where their focus should be if they want to make a trade.

I agree because La Porta could very easily be a 40 HR guy in the future, and will most likely at least be a consistent 30 HR hitter. Carrasco is a very good prospect as well, but La Porta is going to be special.

If the Phillies think they can get Duchscherer for Carrasco I would do it in a heart beat. I think I might be the only Phillies fan who thinks Carrasco is overrated.

Rollins
Victroino
Utley
Holliday
Howard
Burrell

That's disgusting

Moyer
Kendrick
Eaton
Happ

That's disgusting also, but in the opposite way. Plus they'd have to give up Victroino in the trade if it happened.
