Batman actor Christian Bale arrested over assault allegation

Batman actor Christian Bale has been arrested in connection with an allegation of assault.

Bale, 34, attended a police station after it was reported his mother and sister had reported him to police.
The alleged incident was believed to have taken place on Sunday night at Park Lane's Dorchester Hotel where Bale is staying.
His mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, are said to have gone to a police station in Hampshire to make the allegation, which was subsequently referred to the Metropolitan Police.
A Met Police spokesman said: "A 34-year-old man attended a London Police Station on Tuesday by appointment and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault.
"He currently remains in custody."
Despite the alleged incident and report, Bale was allowed to attend the first European screening of the new Batman blockbuster The Dark Knight in London's West End on Monday night uninterrupted.
Bale was joined on the red carpet by Maggie Gyllenhaal, who plays love interest Rachel Dawes, and Sir Michael Caine who plays Bruce Wayne's faithful butler and father figure Alfred.
The film took a record $158.3 million in its opening weekend at the US box office overtaking Spiderman 3, which took $151.1 million.
Interest in the film has increased because of the death of Heath Ledger.
His performance as Batman's arch nemesis The Joker, has been widely tipped by critics, as well as Caine, to receive a posthumous Oscar.

Where did you read he beat his mother? What reports did you hear?

Christian Bale has been released from police custody after voluntarily turning himself him to answer questions stemming from an assault charge filed by his mother and his sister. Earlier a publicist for Bale issued this statement:

"Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister. Mr. Bale, who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale."

TMZ among others is reporting that this charge of assault may be nothing more than verbal assault, which is a crime in the UK. Yelling is not a crime in the US, unless you stand outside Megan Foxs window and yell at her to show you her tits

When not saving Gotham from crime, Batman, also known as Christian Bale, allegedly spends his time beating his mother and sister.

According to Britain’s Press Association, the 34-year-old actor’s mother and sister reported that Bale assaulted them on the night of the European premiere of The Dark Knight. Instead of questioning him that very night, her Majesty’s finest elected to wait until Tuesday because “they did not want to interfere with the premiere.”

Classy.

Apparently, crime takes a backburner at Scotland Yard when Hollywood rolls into town. One can only imagine the leeway England’s own James Bond, Daniel Craig, has with the law.

Lesson learned: Beating women is OK, if you put a notorious, deranged criminal behind bars – or, at least star in a film where you do.

Late Morning Update: The Sun reports Bale has been arrested. Bale's mother and sister can undoubtedly thank OTR for motivating the police force.

That was a speculation report. It had no truth behind it. It was just tabloid bullshit. The TMZ report is the updated one. I saw where some thought he hit them but the latest release says way different. Said he was in a screaming fight.

My bad, right after I asked you where you read it, I read it at the same site I got the latest report.

If he got arrested for assault, verbally, because he was screaming at them then they should be slapped and he should never give them a dime again in his life. Unreal. I couldn't count how many times my mother and I got into arguments. Are they going to say they felt threatened? Come on. What a joke.

The big bad Batman is scaring me. They were just looking for publicity and it's sad.

doubt they are though, and now it sounds like his mom needs a beating from the other brothers

I know looks can be decieveing. But after seeing Christian in an interview, he definatly doesn't come across as the type to hit his own mother. I figured the story was BS right away.

Who the fuck reports their son to the police after an argument? And who does it the night of his huge movie premiere? Lot of it is speculation, but something just isn't lining up, unless his mother and sister are both crazy bitches. I could see if it was some crazed ex-girlfriend looking for publicity and a payday, but surely his own mother and sister are well taken care of by the cash he's making. Don't get it.
