Alright boys...we've all been there. You just took one of the worst beats of your life that puts you down more money than you have ever been down in the past 2 weeks :) You are sitting there telling yourself again and again that if you can get it back that this time FOR REAL...you will stop. The sad thing is that at the time you really and truly mean it.

So here it goes...Ive been at it for quite some time now and wish I had the control of some of you guys on this forum. I hear everyone say to "bet within your means" and to just put a little on the game and it will be "just as much fun." The problem for me is that it's usually not about the money for me...it;s the thrill.

I can honestly say that I have been up large sums of money in the past and I dont have as much fun as I do when Im chasing. At the time I dont find it fun chasing, but we all know how it feels to win when WE NEED TO.

Is there anyone in this forum that has any advice for me. I am actually getting paid this week and I am up so this is not me talking coming from a bad beat. I just for once would like to keep my winnings and go to bed every night knowing that if I lose the late game it won't ruin my day the next morning when I see the score.

Your thoughts gents? I would love to stop all together, but I cant see that happening.

Take a break for a while, maybe wait until football season. Set aside a bankroll that you can afford to lose, and if you do lose it then stop. Obviously if you keep playing after losing the bankroll it's pointless to set money aside in the first place.

The fact you get more of a thrill of chasing is a sure sign of failure. Daddy Warbucks...you must get a grip and get your arms around this thing before it ruins you.

Good Luck man but in your case luck should not be part of the equation.

To me...I feel like baseball is easy. Football seems impossible. I know every player every team, but I can't seem to win more than half. I tell myself every year to bet the opposite of what I like and Id probably win money each year.

"To me baseball is easy..."

But you sound like you are losing on baseball. It really is not the easy, it takes good strategies and capping skills just like other sports. If your capping skills are letting you down, start looking at some of the posts here to see if they can help. Or simplify things with chase systems that have proven track records, such as chasing good teams at home or chasing fades of bad teams on the road...

Daddy...here's what I do. I am in the same boat as you. I used to love the action, not the money. Lose the number to your man...call him and tell him you quit. Then open an account at a post up shop. Set a weekly budget. Disposable income. But standardize it. And every week, that is your 'allowance'. If you blow it friday night, you're done til next friday. Now a small amount of disposable income isnt gonna kill you, but it also doesnt give you much to play with. So in essence, you're starting each week, chasing. It might take you a few weeks to adjust, but if you take your first bet and bet your whole stake for that week on it...and you know that's your only action til next friday if you lose....you will start to feel that rush after a few weeks. And it works best if you 'tell someone' what you're doing. in other words, i told my wife my plan, and she knows to look for any 'extra chase withdrawls' from the checking account...it works for me. then if you make money that week, keep it in there and build it up to a level that you are used to playing...and if you build 10,000 bux and blow it all, after it took you 5 weeks to build it starting with 50 bucks...you're gonna feel the same kick in the nuts we all endure....but bottom line, you blew 50 bucks and enjoyed your hobby for 5 weeks...then start over the next friday.

Thanks for the input. i did end up doing two plays today smaller than what I normally do. Lets just say this...it's definitely money mgmt. I ended up getting paid out and I was 1 for 7 on plays on my big plays. I win all these small plays and then I go for the kill with the big ones. Thats when I lose. Its almost like I bet smarter with the smaller bets.

I appreciate all your feedback boys. Now back to the grind :)
