Man, what am I missing here? Maddux pitches well for 4-5 innings usually then the wheels come tumbling off, I know Petco is a pitching dream, but the D-Backs don't rely on the HR nearly as much as last year and they play small ball well. Ever since Maddux hit 350 wins he's been winless in 8 starts going 0-5 with 4.54 ERA. He also flat out sucks against Arizona with a 2-11 record and an ERA of 5.29. He got blitzed in his only start this year losing 9-0. Arizona is hitting the ball well right now, I think I'm going to jump this before they come back to earth. Plus, when Maddux goes out early, 'Zona gets to feast on the hapless Padre bullpen. I can't back the D-Backs though because Owings has been equally terrible and the bullpen, while shored up with Rauch back there now, is still an adventure. Think this is the safer play.
