My mate from school is getting married this Saturday and I will be his best man. I have known about this for 12 months and have put a lot of thought into it but I really only started my speech writing in earnest today. I have watched a couple of hours of you tube and read a book on the topic but would appreciate some words of wisdom the Rx boys if you have any advice I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

You will be too drunk to utter an understandable word

Dont mention any past relationships or the bachelor party in the speech.

Definitely photoshop your face and the bride's face onto porn and hand them out.

I suggest you wing it from the heart....or watch a rerun of the wedding crashers...your choice..

What VD said. Just wing it from the heart. I'm sure you have stories about your mate... though, stick with stories related to you two and any stories you have about your mate & the bride... that'd do.

Ladies and gentlemen, to put my nerves about speaking here today into perspective, this is the 5th time this afternoon that I have risen from a warm seat with a piece of paper in my hand!

Ladies and gentlemen, you’ll have to forgive me if I stumble a little in my speech, but I haven’t been this nervous or filled with such apprehension about what’s required of me for a long time – not since I was last at the clap clinic, in fact

tell all the funny experiences you had with him...then at end get very serious and tell him how much he means to you as a friend...

very important...

shed a tear at end or at least pretend to and prepare to have strange sex all night long

keep it relatively short, talk up the bride, how great she is, how beautiful she looks, how she makes your friend better (can't go wrong talking about how great the bride is), thank the parents, don't go over board on stories or jokes, though one of each is a must

strangely this is all relatively good advice-ive done it once and had em laughing off the bat and crying at the end and then i could not keep ridiculous puss off of me-this is an opportunity not only to tell your friend how much his friendship means to you, but also a chance to speak to all of the married and single bitches in the house who want to get railed.. more later

come from the heart man. I did it for my brother and i had them laughing and crying. But also try to get a bridesmaid to say something first. It was actually three of us that spoke. The two before me were horrible made me look even better.

I passed out pictures of the groom dressed up like a girl for Halloween. It was the party where he met his wife ironically. Made the speech pretty irrelevant.

You could go Luke Wilson from old school.

True love is hard to find, Sometimes you think you've found true love, then you catch the early flight home from san diego and two people jump out of your bathroom naked like a goddamm magic show ready to double team your girlfriend.

If you "script" a speech ahead of time it will come off that way. Just speak from the heart and keep it short. Wish them both well; even though they will probably be devorced within 5 years.

I have been the best man 2 times thought talking in front of all the people would be hard but it wasn't. Never had anything prepared but both times I got a laugh and everyone seemed to be listening. I would just say what pops in your head. Both times for me something happened the day of that made me think of what to say. Hope all goes well with the wedding hope you have many drinks on the bride's dad.

If you don't want to go with whatever pops into your head I say go Luke Wilson on their asses for sure.
