These are definately the type of games that the Phillies know they will need to win in the 2nd Half if they expect to win the division and make the playoffs...

More importantly, Moyer has been pitching extremely well all season, and has gotten even stronger over his last 3, and his ability to keep them in the game should be the difference tonight...

Reason being that Redding is, for lack of a better word...the Nationals ace and considering who he plays for...he has shown that he does have major league stuff, with a very respectable WHIP and ERA...But, unfortunately, baseball is a team sport and even with a dominant pitcher, a team needs to score runs to win games...and that has been a huge problem for Washington all season, and even moreso of late...In fact, the Nationals have been able to score a total of 3 runs over their last 5 games...

Those are definately some of the reasons that the Phillies are worth backing in this spot tonight, especially at a fair price of -130...simple math alone tells us that if a team has better than a 56.5% chance of winning...then we are getting the best of it...and without even detailing the offensive, defensive, and piching (Starters & Pen) edge that we when looking at the stats and power-ratings of both squads...their respective records alone (Wash winning only 40% of home games & only 35% overall) offer us a big enough edge to back the Phils in this spot...So let's go ahead and back Philly again tonight, and make it our 3* BEST BET...VR
