IP for location, bar none hands down.

South point probably has the newest and cleanest rooms, not sure tho.

I always stay at Imperial Palace. Cheap rooms, great location, pretty good sports and race book that gives drink tickets when you wager and a bar where you can watch games, throw a couple of dollars in the video poker machines and drink free all day.

Can't beat the location for Harrah's and IP, but they don't have good pools (if that's one of the things you're looking for). Harrah's is nicer than IP. Never stayed at the others, but their location isn't good especially South Point.

That might be the worst selection of Vegas hotels that I've ever seen. Why not stay somewhere nice like Mirage or Treasure Island? Your list is "The Broke Man's Guide to Vegas"

I like the evil empire.....Harrahs and IP have the best location of the bunch.

I like Harrahs better because IP is a little hidden and a notch below Harrahs

Any reason why you are looking at only these hotels? If it's because of price, check out the Flamingo as they have a very nice pool and still the great center strip location. Flamingo is about the same price as Harrah's. Might be able to find good prices at other nicer hotels this summer since travel is down this summer and they need to fill rooms.

I agree with this, I was at flamingo LAST summer and the pool was nice, get yourself a cabana that comes with a bottle of rum and get down

If you can afford Harrahs you can almost certainly afford the Flamingo

I think the Sahara could be the most under rated on the list.Good video poker and bars. great pool out of this list. Rooms are all being refurbished.

How far is South Point from the main strip?

about 5 miles south of Mandalay Bay.

South Point has a good sports book and lounge. They are the only book, (that I'm aware of), that offers the opportunity for you to listen to any game you choose. You give the writer an I.D. and they give you a small box you can put on your table and tune into which ever game is shown on numerous screens around the lounge or book. Liberal comps for drinks and very spacious environment. The pool is a after thought and nothing overly special. Table games, eateries, and rooms are all top notch.

If you stay there and want to visit strip casinos you will want to rent a car. But then again, you should have a car no matter where you stay in Vegas.
