Of course the Atlanta Pen is complete crap. I would take the under and ATL in the first half only. I wouldn't touch them for a 9 inning game right now. The whole team has given up and as soon as it starts going bad they quit.

Cap-it been working on the games most of the day and i hope i can get out of this cold spell tonite.i will for a few days stay off the totals and lower the ratings on my plays until i got out of this cold spell.the totals has just kill me over the last 3 weeks and i will put the totals on the shelf for a few days....gl tonite back in a short time.......ck
well my cardinals inside info says carpenter will not be on a pitch count tonight so that made it much easier for me to back him both bullpens stink so as for a side i would probably play theover because both starters can pitch lights out and bullpens can come in and put the game over by themsevels
Jurrjens has been excellent all year. That's why they're favored. Tough game to handicap because who knows how Carpenter will perform coming off the DL and not having pithed in over a year. I wouldn't advise betting against Jurrjens in this one. He could go deep and who know how long Carpenter will go. Atlanta's bullpen is bad but it's not any worse than the St. Louis bullpen. Whichever starter is most effective and goes the longest wins this one and if I were betting I would say that is Atlanta and Jurrjens.
Not sure where the right answer got his inside Cardinal info but it was plainly stated he wouldn't pitch more than 85 pitches. I don't think he was ever going more than 5. 67 pitches is all he threw they didn't want him to go any more than that with his control not there tonight. In 3 starts I will say he will be hard to not back barring any set back with the elbow.
