Better hitting. Better pitching. Sanchez not ready for MLB pitching after Tommy John. Marlins can't hit lefties.

This is the bet of the day by far. Maybe bet of the month.

Seriously?

By what statistical measure is Colorado's offense superior to Florida's.

Rocks don't hit away from home. Quite a contrast between Coors and Dolphins Stadium. Marlins' offense is significantly better.

How is Anibal Sanchez not ready?? Did you take a look at his rehab stats or did you just make a highly irrational generalization with absolute no backing? :ohno:

In 28.0 IP in Sanchez's official rehab he's only given up 9 runs on 23 hits (no HR), walking 10 and striking out 25. Now that sounds pretty decent to me. Maybe you can see where his weakness is and I'm missing something. De La Rosa on the other hand is pretty crap, and always has been. Sanchez went 10-3 in his rookie season. Rockies crap road record shows they don't like leaving their bandbox. They are 5-12 in 1st game of a series on the road. Wow, that's a great record! So if you do bet on the Rockies on the road up against a man who just lost his infant child a few months ago making his first start in the majors in over a year, and if (when) they lose come back here and realize why you lose money. I bet you went against Carpenter last night thinking the same thing. You are trying to find gold in crap! I'm going to try the gold mine instead.... it's in PULLYOURHEADOUTOFYOURASS, USA. Good Luck pal.

Florida hits like .190 against lefties at home. Colorado hitting almost .400 over their last ten.

He had an ERA near 3.00 pitching against guys not even close to major league caliber. Totally avoided Triple-A and pitched in the lower levels. That's not going to translate well against a major league squad hitting .372 their last ten.

PS, just a further response to JOBU. Anibal Sanchez was awesome when he came up the first time... and now he has had Tommy John and been out of the game for a while. If you are trying to say he'll pick up where he left off after having the most major surgery a pitcher can have, you have another thing coming.

I don't see why people think they lose their "stuff" after surgery. Sure they might lose a little velocity, but that's not what makes a pitcher good, it's how much movement they can get and location of their pitches. That has everything to do with finger placement, release point, and grip in the palm. Taking 1-2 mph off a fastball due to surgery isn't going to cause him to get rocked all of a sudden.

Also, you bought up how they have been killing it lately at the plate. Well, half (the better half) of those last 10 games came at home! And look who they went up against, here is the list of starters the faced... Herrerra, Duke, Stults, Kershaw, Kuroda, Volquez, Bailey, Fogg, Snell, Herrerra. Outside of Volquez, those are all poor to average pitchers... mostly poor. You can't just look at stats, you need to see where they are coming from. Everytime they move to a new city on the road they increase their chance to cooling off as quickly as they heated up.

Florida may hit .190 against LHP at home, but they hit .350 against De La Rosa, and everyone in this lineup has touched him up for a hit. Most have extra base hits, and this is in only the 2 games they've seen him.

You guys also have to consider, Sanchez will definitely be on a pitch count. If COL gets to him early, he'll be pulled.

WRONG!!!

Wiley said Sanchez won't be in any sort of pitch count when he makes his first Major League start of the season, but the Marlins will know when he's laboring.

You guys really need to do your work before you make assumptions.
