Now, even though I did like the things I saw in the Philly paper this morning...I haven't been a fan of any particular team since I was about 13 and introduced to the point-spread, so this Bet has very little to do with me being in Philly until later tonight...
Instead, it is soley based on the stats, price, and current circumstances which made me try and seek a strong Confirmation and when I did...well it became even more obvious and knowing the books are getting Cards work when we know the betting public perfers favs don't hurt either...
So here are a few other things that I like...For starters, Overall the St Louis Offense is Power-Rated +10% above the NL Average...but when they face a LHP, like they will see tonight, they are actually -3% Below the NL Average Offensively...And tonight they aren't just facing any LHP, they are facing one of the best young arms in MLB...and he is coming in off of his worst outing of the season, so we can expect him to be sharp tonight and follow the trend of bouncing right back and getting the win...More importantly, the Philly offense is PR at +9% Above the NL Average Overall...but get them on the road and they are +13% above the average...And looking at their current state, over their L/5 Games they have hit below .306 only 1 time, and still managed a 2-1 win over Washington...
And with this being the 1st game of this Series, we see that the Phillies have been able to Win 17 of 20 Games, after ending the previous series with a win in their Final game...That to me looks like a team that "Momentum" means everything to and when they get going, they become very hard to stop...and they come in looking for their 6th Straight Win Tonight...Let's go ahead and Bet the Phillies as our MLB 3* BEST BET of the DAY...the 1st for August...VR.
