Listen up here this is going to be an easy cash!!!
Pedro Martinez makes his first start tonight vs the Astros since his fathers death.
The norm here would be to take whoever it is but now when you are talking one of the biggest pitchers of all time who has a lot of spunk pitching after his fathers death well look out Astros!!!
Mets are playing well since letting Willie go and they start another winning streak now.
Im a Yankees fan but have always enjoyed Pedro and tonight will love him!!!!

Well my slight apprehensiveness on playing the Astros has just been turned into a live play. Thanks. FYI pedro will be on a pitch count up into the low 80's. If he gets in touble early look out. Thanks again.:drink:

Also his father passed last week, so it hasn't been since his fathers death it has been since July 12, his last start, which was before the All Star break.

But to be honest with you, you may win but your reasoning for this game does not make much sense.

1. You are proclaiming Pedro as this great pitcher still. He has not been consistent for the past 2 to 3 years. He is always bothered by constant nagging injuries. To say he has spunk to pitch after his father dies really doesn't make much sense either. :think2:

2. Willie Randolph hasn't managed this club for some time now. I'm pretty sure the Mets have settled in with their new mangement, so to factor him into this play saying the Mets have been playing better without Willie doesn't make much sense.

As i said before you may win this game but i just can't see Pedro coming out and blanking the Stros. BOL

I was saying Pedro has spunk period.
Not for pitching after the death.
Pedro is a winner and thats it add to the mix that its his first game back since the death im sure Pedro wants to do it for him
Example look up Brett Favre after his dads death all ijm saying is when you already have a star and add death equals:money8:

Ok so what you are saying Pedro is going to come out and throw a complete game, no hits, no walks etc. all becasue Brett Farve had an amzaing game after his dad past. That is the most idiotic thing i have ever heard. Did every other player whose dad died come out and play the most amazing game in their career? Thats F*ckin retarded. By the way farve wasnt 5 years past his prime and coming off of not playing for a month when he did that. Talk about genius.

The data on pitchers liking their fathers and starting 19 days after their fathers death is inconclusive. I just went back 121 years and its 50/50.

Right now I'm going through all the pitchers that hated their fathers, pitched 19 days after their fathers death, and have also thrown in a filter of whether Brett Favre was fishing the exact day the father passed away. I wanted to keep the Brett Favre factor alive since it relates to the research behind the play.
